Wordless Wednesday~Scott & the Boys

Rock In

We took Jack to a kids' concert a little while ago. On our way there we told him that he was going to rock out to some music and he did. Well, lately he has wanted us to turn the music up really loud so he can rock out. The other day, however, he asked us to turn the music up louder so he could "rock in." What? Rock in? What the heck is rock in? We tried to correct him to no avail. Silly boy! I guess we will just have to rock in from now on:)

Monday Musings

I love when I hear a message at church on Sunday and can't wait to share it with you in Monday Musings. Yesterday our pastor talked about the story of Moses. Now we've all heard this story whether churched or not. However, there were two key components to the story that stood out to me. First, he brought up the verses about the burning bush. Exodus 3:4 says, "When the Lord saw that he(Moses) had gone over to look, God called him from within the bush, 'Moses, Moses!'" This is typically very familiar to most. But, there is something to new to be seen. God waited for Moses to pay attention to Him. This brought forth the question: How often has God tried to get my attention and I did not respond? The other aspect of the story of Moses that was very interesting was when God asked Moses to lay down his staff. Moses' staff was his lively hood; his everything. It was what he used to corral the sheep and cattle which was what he made his living off of. Once Moses l

MOPS Harvest Festival

I joined MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) this year and am so happy I did. I love going to the meetings and the other mommies are absolutely wonderful! It's so nice to hang out with other moms going through the same stuff you are while hearing God's Word. Anyway, last night we had our annual Harvest Festival. Jacson had an ABSOLUTE BLAST! It was so fun to experience a holiday event with him this year since he gets it now and reacts in such a fun way! However, the night didn't start off perfect...We had to wake Jack up from his nap to go and he was crying the whole way there saying, "I don't want to have fun." But all this changed when we pulled up and he saw what lay before him: bounce houses, games, a train, food, and trunk-or-treat. His eyes grew wide and his face lit up. I'd have to say that he had fun after all:) Enjoy the pics! The Fish Fam in our trunk. We participated in the trun-or-treat. This was my first time decorating my trunk and I didn'

Funny Friday

Mr. Jackson has been quite the comedian lately. I thought I'd share some pictures and stories with you to give you a good laugh for the weekend. Now this is the way to fold the laundry! Tiger has gone with us everywhere lately. Aparrently yesterday Tiger was hungry and needed a snack. This morning at 7am Scott and I wake up to this: Jackson: (yelling under his door that is closed) "DAAAAADDDYYYY! MOMMMY! DAAAAAADDDY! DAAAAADY! DAAAADY, WAKE UP! WAKE UP DAAAADY!!!!" So funny! At least he was calling for daddy so I got to stay in bed while daddy went and got him up:) Later in the morning I was taking a shower. Jackson walked passed me with his giant monkey. I thought nothing of it until Scott walked in. He asked Jack where his monkey was and Jackson told him that Monkey had to go potty. Sure enough Monkey was sitting on the pot with the door closed. At least he gave the primate some privacy. Unfortunately Monkey's long tail was hanging in the toilete water so he is now

Telling on Mommy

Everytime I have told Jackson "no" today he has told on me. He puts his hand to his ear pretending it's a phone, calls daddy, and tells daddy the situation..."Daddy, mommy said no to me..." Geesh! I can't get away with anything anymore!

Monday Musings~Remember this when you worry...

1 Peter 5:7 “Give all your cares and worries to God.” Psalm 91”1-2 “Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety, He is my God, and I trust Him.” Philippians 4:6-7 (MSG) 6 Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. 7 Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down.

Army Ranger

I usually get professional pictures taken of Jackson every year during the holidays. For some reason I dropped the ball this year and did not get Halloween pictures taken of Jackson in his costume. So, I improvised. I made a make-shift backdrop on my porch and even had the little Army soldier covertly hide in the bushes:) Here are some the pictures we took. By the way, he LOVED wearing his costume! YIPEE!

Monday Musings~Miracles

Do you believe in miracles? I do. I believe in tiny little miracles and huge astronomical miracles. I believe in a mighty God who does great and miraculous things EVERYDAY. Sometimes we are just too busy or blinded to see the magnificence! I witnessed a miracle last week and thought I'd share it with you. I was sent an email asking that I pray. You see, there was a sweet little five year old girl who was taken to the hospital by her parents because of flu-like symptoms. However, when they got there the family received the grim news...brain cancer. She was given 5 years to live MAX. The doctors had to run some tests to be sure but this seemed her fate. The family is best friends with a girlfriend of mine here and I couldn't imagine the fear and heart attach all were experiencing. So, I got on my knees and prayed, and prayed, and prayed. I prayed for a miracle. I waited and waited to hear some news. Finally, almost a week later I received another email. Turns out it was NOT brain

How to...

get your child to sleep from 6:45pm-8am...just take him to two birthday parties in one day without a nap! Jackson started off Saturday at Gavin's 3rd birthday! He was very excited for this event! He had a blast jumping and climbing on all the bounce houses, playing with all his cute little friends, and eating pizza and cupcakes! Happy birthday, Gavin! We love you! We came home for about an hour and a half and the mover and shaker did not rest. We changed clothes and headed to Luke's 4th birthday at the pool at our athletic center. Jackson again had a blast climbing the little fort and going down the slides. He loved playing with his "Lukey" and again got to eat some yummy pizza and cake. We got home around 6pm and Jackson and I layed on the couch watching Diego. He crept up beside me, layed his sweet little head on my chest, and fell asleep. Scott got home from picking up dinner around 6:45pm only to find the two of us passed out on the couch. Scott transferred the li

Where'd my Jesus go?

Jackson and I were driving home from music class when, out of silence, he asks, Mommy, where'd my Jesus go?" I couldn't help but giggle. We had a nice little chat about where Jesus is and then he said a prayer for the dinosaurs and butterflies. Please, God, let me never forget these moments!

Monday Musings~Ode to My Husband

"Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4 Above is a picture of the flowers Scott brought home to me Friday night. He and Jack went to the store to get stuff to make burgers and Jackson excitedly brought these to me when they got home. This small gesture reminded me of what a great man I married. I remember back in the day when we were broken up and I had to "let go" of Scott. I didn't want to but knew I had to. Then, I came across this verse. I really didn't realize at the time that the desire of my heart was to be with Scott forever but the Lord did. I went about my life "delighting myself in the Lord" all the while letting go of Scott. Seven months later God brought us back together (it's a long but wonderful story to be told at a later time). I bring that story up because the flowers reminded me that God blessed me with the desire of my heart: Scott. The most wonderful thing is that he is stil

It's Punkin Time!

It's that time of year again! Time for the good ole Punkin Patch (as Jack calls it). It was a beautiful day to be outside! We had a blast petting the animals, riding tractors, going on a hay ride, running through the pumpkin field, and eating hot dogs. Jackson LOVES feeding and seeing all the animals (like his mama) and climbing all over the pumpkins. It was a perfect family day spent with some wonderful friends! I'm just sad that we are done visiting the pumpkin patch and have to wait a whole year before we go again. Ah, time goes by WAY too fast! The Fish Fam Jackson thought this barrel of hay was a slide. Yes, folks, he's all Scott's! Lol! Cheese! I've got to teach this kid another expression when taking his picture. All he does now is make a face like he's in pain. Jack wishes he could own a tractor! Awwwww! Jackson, Gavin, and sweet Emily climbing on the pumpkins. Tractor ride...this was too cute. The boys were pulled around the property in this little trac
