I Just Had To...

I must admit that I stole this off of my friends blog that is blocked. I thought it was SO perfect and fittng after my day yesterday! Enjoy a good laugh!!! Thinking of Having Kids (or grand kids)? Do this 11-step program first! Lesson 1 1. Go to the grocery store. 2. Arrange to have your salary paid directly to their head office. 3. Go home. 4. Pick up the paper. 5. Read it for the last time. Lesson 2 Before you finally go ahead and have children, find a couple who already are parents and berate them about their… 1. Methods of discipline. 2. Lack of patience. 3. Appallingly low tolerance levels. 4. Allowing their children to run wild. 5. Suggest ways in which they might improve their child's breastfeeding, sleep habits, toilet training, table manners, and overall behavior. Enjoy it because it will be the last time in your life you will have all the answers. Lesson 3 A really good way to discover how the nights might feel… 1. Get home from work and immediately begin walking around t...

Thursday Thirteen~When Your Toddler Has an "Off" Day

Have you ever had one of those glorious days when your toddler awakes deceiving you that today is going to be a great day! He says "please" and "thank you" and is very cordial. And then, dun dun dun, the true evil troll in him comes out! This was my day. It is 7:30pm and I could crawl into bed and go to sleep. Here are thirteen of the tremendously wonderful things I experienced with my spawn today. 1. He took out all of my bracelets, hair accessories, curlers, and curler pins and scattered them across my bathroom and bedroom while I was rushing to get ready. 2. He spiderman-scaled my dresser, layed on his belly along our TV, and proceeded to turn the TV on and off because he wanted his music and then didn't want it... 3. We fought about what shoes he would wear when we were leaving. 4. This is the best one...Jackson had his first major public tantrum. We were leaving Bed, Bath, and Beyond and he would not come to me to cross the street. I picked him up, bags fal...

Wordless Wednesday~Not Ready

(Sorry ladies...this was just too funny)

Just to Share

Every morning I wake up, open all my curtains, and turn the page on my daily scripture. Today it read: "I will lie down in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety." Psalm 4:8 I share this because I have been waking up in the middle of the night and everytime I pray for peace. Interesting timing on this verse! Just thought I'd share.

Tuesday Thoughts...

I didn't follow through on Monday Musings so I thought I'd share my thoughts today. I have been wavering back and forth with what to write. I thought maybe I'd get some profound epiphanies through the scripture I read today but that didn't happen. Unfortunately my mind kept wandering back to surrender. A topic I didn't want to face. We had communion at church Sunday. Now, I always get a little weepy during this but Sunday it was uncontrollable. I couldn't wipe the tears away fast enough. No, I wasn't sad. I was scared. I hadn't completely surrendered to God some things I needed to let go of and knew I needed to. I had one of those heart pounding moments where I knew I had to do something but didn't want to because the road might be difficult. Notice how I said "might." I don't really know if the road after surrender will be tough, I just assume it will. I set myself up to deal with the worst even though the worst hasn't been present...

Dinosaurs & Butterflies

Every night before dinner Scott and I pray. We pray about many different things. Usually Jackson holds our hands and just watches sneaking a bite of food here and there placing his slimy hand back in ours. Last night Scott asked Jackson what he'd like to pray for. We've asked him before but he never really responded. He'd just whisper giberish for his own prayer. Well, last night he said his prayer request was for dinosaurs and butterflies. So, daddy prayed for dinosaurs and butterflies. Jackson also bowed his head and said a little prayer for his "friends."

ROOOOAR!

Scott, Jackson, and I had an extremely fun family day on Saturday. We started the day by going to The Heard Museum of Natural Science in McKinney. The museum has a walking trail and along that trail they put life-size dinosaurs that move and make noise. It was so cool (I thought of you and the kids, Amy)! Jack was very excited to see the dinosaurs on our drive there. He has a dino book and loves reading about the amazing creatures. However, once we got up close and personal he was a little unsure. He was okay as long as Scott was holding him and as we walked away from each one. It was funny to see and hear all the parents tell there weary toddlers to just go up to the giant roaring animals even though you are terrified. Of course Jackson can't stop talking about the dinosaurs and wants to go back. We just may. It was a blast. At the end of the day we ate pizza and watched Madagascar in our media room. So much fun!!!! This was the only dinosaur Jack would touch. This is what Jack di...
