The Bullard and Fish families packed up and headed to Lake Texoma for a fun-filled Bully-Fish weekend! The lake is a little over an hour north of us and reminds me a lot of Big Bear for all you Cali folk. We had a wonderful time full of rest, relaxation, laughter, and sleep deprivation (will explain later). Before we get to the pics I thought I'd explain my sleep deprivation comment with three stories...
Story 1: We get to the cabin and the boys immediately jump on what is going to be Bre & Mike's bed & begin rummaging through her diaper bag. She walks into the room and yells to me, "Either one of the boys just chucked something under the stairs or something ran under there." We didn't see anything & thought nothing of it. Flash forward the evening. Bre walks into the cabin then immediately back out. Her & Mike reemerge with her explaining that a little furry creature just ran over her foot. Nice! Our strong courageous hubbies found the shaking little field mouse behind the fridge. They coerced him out with a little fridge shaking and scurried him out the front door. Okay. Mouse gone. Check. Not quite yet...
Story 2: I am laying with the boys trying to get them to sleep(in the same bed, mind you). I get up to get Scott the "Toddler Sleep Whisperer" when I look down right outside the boys room only to find a snake(don't pass out yet mom...there's a lot to go). I jump back on the bed and scream like a mad woman for Scott. All three come rushing in from outside asking me what was the matter and again, like a crazy woman, I yell, "snake, snake, snake." Our big burly husbands once again shoo out our little nature creature. It was only a gardener snake about 8 inches long but still...it was slithering in the house and very well could've stepped on it. I get the willies just thinking about it. You'd think I'd be out of stories by now but no, there's more.
Story 3: We all manage to go to bed later that night. Bre & I still awake in our beds concoting how Fredy is going to break into our cabin slashing us all and no one knowing because we are in the wilderness. I finally doze off when I am awakened but a wonderfully horrible scratching sound. I muster up some courage to place my feet on our snake-mice infested groun, open the door, and try to figure out where the noise is coming from. I can't quite seem to place it so what do I do? What any wife would do in my place. I wake up my husband. Isn't that why we got married in the first place ladies? He reluctantly gets up and of course the noise stops. Why does that always happen. He goes to our 2ft x 2ft kitchen to investigate when all of a sudden I see mouse one's louder and plumper brother run across the kitchen table. I scream, in a whisper as to not wake up the house, to Scott that there is a mouse behind him. Well, chubby the mouse got away to never be found again; or to torment another family. Needless to say we moved cabins in the morning:)
The first four photos are of our new, clean, and varment-free cabin that we moved to and the view from our place. It was absolutely beautiful and relazxing.
