Thursday Thirteen~Today

Ahhhh! It is absolutely beautiful today! The sun is out, the temperature is in the 70's, and there is a nice cool breeze. Today is a little taste of how wonderful fall is around here. In keeping with the theme of a fabulous day, I thought I'd post thirteen fantastic things about today!

1. I slept straight in a deep sleep until 7:30am:)
2. Jackson and I went to Mygym and he had a blast!
3. Jack shared, was kind, and followed directions at MyGym
4. I talked to a very sweet mommy while the kids played
5. Jackson giggled SO much at MyGym. It was wonderful to hear his little laugh!
6. We got outside and went to the park enjoying this beautiful day!
7. Jackson and Gavin chased a little boy on a mini tractor around the park cracking up the whole way! It was hilarious!
8. Jackson and Gavin shared an apple! So cute!
9. Jackson kindly pushed Eli on the swing.
10. We drove around with the windows down...ahhhh, it felt good!
11. NO potty accidents in three days!!! Whoohoo!!!
12. I have all my windows open feeling the cool breeze and watching it gently move my curtains.
13. I have a great sense of peace and have already experienced great joy today!!!

I hope all of you have a wonderfully fabulous day! Remember the joy in the little things!!!

Holy Holy

I can't stop singing, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty." Scott and I went to the "big" ultrasound today where we tested to see if our baby had Down's, one of the Trisomy disorders, or any neural tube defects. I must admit the palms were a little sweaty and the heart was racing a bit. As surreal as this pregnancy is, I don't want anything to be wrong with this precious life inside of me. Well, holy is right. The Lord is not just good; He is awesome! Our little baby instantly began moving and grooving for us showing off fingers and toes and a great heart beat! Even though I am on my third, watching the miracle of life on that screen NEVER gets old! It truly blows my mind every time I get to see our precious angels developing inside of me! The scan came out wonderfully. We got all positives on all the scans the doctor (who was absolutely INCREDIBLE) could do. Now we just wait for some blood work to confirm that everything is okay with our little boy. ...

Don't Lose You

When Jackson was a baby, I would hop into my car on my lunch break and rush to his day care to see him. I had thirty minutes with my baby and I needed every last second. I was a mess of a new mom and had a really hard time leaving him everyday. I was caught in the conundrum of loving teaching with all that I was and loving being a mom desperately wanting to stay home. I established a neat relationship with Jack's care-takers. They were a little older than me and much wiser. They will never fully know how appreciative I am for their advice and comfort during those beginning moments as a mama. When I decided to leave my teaching career and move halfway across the country to do so, they gave me a piece of advice that I didn't take seriously initially but now hold dear. They told me I had to find something for me. They watched me finish my master's that year and knew I was the type that needed to be doing.
