Halloween 2009

What a fun Halloween we had! I have NEVER seen Jack so excited and hyper before! He was looking forward to this day for a long time! We started the day by carving our pumpkins and making pumpkin spice muffins. Jack had so much fun carving the pumpkins. He especially liked getting all the goo out! He told me what faces to make and watched as I carved away.

After a fun and relaxing day, we headed to the Bullards for our annual trick-or-treating Halloween bash with all the families. We did a little super hero theme. It was fun to see all the kiddos dressed up as their favorite super hero. The kids hung in there and trick-or-treated for an hour or so. Afterward, we sat in the front lawn and passed out candy while the kids played and burned off all that sugar. Needless to say, they crashed at the end of the night!

All-in-all, we had a wonderful Halloween. It is so fun to celebrate these holidays with young kids! Enjoy the pics!

Holy Holy

I can't stop singing, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty." Scott and I went to the "big" ultrasound today where we tested to see if our baby had Down's, one of the Trisomy disorders, or any neural tube defects. I must admit the palms were a little sweaty and the heart was racing a bit. As surreal as this pregnancy is, I don't want anything to be wrong with this precious life inside of me. Well, holy is right. The Lord is not just good; He is awesome! Our little baby instantly began moving and grooving for us showing off fingers and toes and a great heart beat! Even though I am on my third, watching the miracle of life on that screen NEVER gets old! It truly blows my mind every time I get to see our precious angels developing inside of me! The scan came out wonderfully. We got all positives on all the scans the doctor (who was absolutely INCREDIBLE) could do. Don't Lose You

When Jackson was a baby, I would hop into my car on my lunch break and rush to his day care to see him. I had thirty minutes with my baby and I needed every last second. I was a mess of a new mom and had a really hard time leaving him everyday. I was caught in the conundrum of loving teaching with all that I was and loving being a mom desperately wanting to stay home. I established a neat relationship with Jack's care-takers. They were a little older than me and much wiser. They will never fully know how appreciative I am for their advice and comfort during those beginning moments as a mama. When I decided to leave my teaching career and move halfway across the country to do so, they gave me a piece of advice that I didn't take seriously initially but now hold dear.
