Hello 9 Months! You came fast!

Grady, Grady, Grady-Do~

Hello my sweet smiley little man! You are 9 months old today and yes, mommy CANNOT believe it! Ugh! Your life is flashing before my eyes entirely too quickly! Thank goodness for this blog so I can remember these precious moments with you! I still wish that I had a pause and rewind button so I could remember and relive some of those special moments with you.

You are still as sweet as ever. I get kisses and hugs ALL the time from you and love it! The other day you excitedly crawled toward me, climbed up and over my big belly, nuzzled yourself in my neck, looked at me, and gave me a big slobbery kiss. You often pat me gently on the back when we hug. You also follow me around the house and if I won't pick you up when you want me to you will tug at my pant leg. You have a blast with daddy and love playing with him. You get really excited when he gets home from work flashing him a huge smile and flailing your arms.

Jackson is your buddy. He really enjoys playing with you. He lays on the ground waiting for you to crawl all over him. You just look at him and laugh. He often gets sad when you crawl to me instead of him. You LOVE to be in his room. You just sit there and look around playing with his big giraffe. He asks me everyday after school if you touched his carseat looking for him. You do miss him while he is at school. You also love to steal his sippy cup and food trying to be a big boy just like him. He is protective of you and loves you so much! I cannot wait to watch your relationship grow.

You are doing so much now. It's incredible how it seems like overnight that you change from this little non-mobile being into a self-feeding independent mover. You really enjoy feeding yourself eating pretty much anything and everything we put in front of you. You now eat waffles, blueberries, turkey, cheerios, puffs, graham bees, melon, bananas, sweet potato fries, and bananas all by yourself. I still make pureed baby food for you and you love it. We just tried hummus. Yum!

Your top teeth are starting to poke through and you are a drooly mess! They sure are taking a long time! Your allergies seem under control which is nice. No more dark circles under your eyes:( You crawl everywhere and FAST! You are pretty good and don't really get into much. I think you just like the freedom of moving around. You pull yourself up easily and even stood on your own for about 5 seconds the other day. You walk along things now. I am sure walking is in our near future. YIKES! You still love to sleep which daddy and I don't mind a bit! You usually go down around 7:30pm and don't wake up until 6:30/7am. You take two good naps a day with your bottom high in the air, feet crossed, and hands under your face. I don't know how you get cozy like that.

You truly are a gift, Grady. Thank you for making us smile everyday. The love you have shown and taught us is immeasurable! Until next month sweet angel...

What a sweet, sweet little boy! How in the world is he 9 months already?

I know what you mean about the pause and rewind button....if we could just bottle it all up somehow.

I'm so looking forward to our little one and watching Grayson become a big brother....what a very special gift to give our children.

Megan, I love reading your words and even though I don't always comment.....your words always bring a smile to my face! Thank you!

Teenage Mother A donkey owner Simon of Cyrene Who are these people? I am sure you can figure out the first one: Mary the mother of Jesus. Who are the others and what do all three of these people have in common? They all did extraordinary things but, for the most part, went unseen. Do you ever feel unseen? Undervalued? I do. I try not to get caught up in that space, but I find myself there too often. While Mary is infamous today, she wasn't when she brought the King into this world. She was a teenager who gave birth in a barn. She was an outcast who was pregnant but not married. She told of an unbelievable story involving an angel, a Spirit, and a Savior who was going to save the world. Could you even imagine? It's easy for us to be in awe of Mary. We know the whole story. She didn't. And neither did the people around her. She had to live it. To top it all off, she had to watch her beloved son die a gruesome death. Talk about feeling unseen and undervalued. She faithfu...

Holy Holy

I can't stop singing, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty." Scott and I went to the "big" ultrasound today where we tested to see if our baby had Down's, one of the Trisomy disorders, or any neural tube defects. I must admit the palms were a little sweaty and the heart was racing a bit. As surreal as this pregnancy is, I don't want anything to be wrong with this precious life inside of me. Well, holy is right. The Lord is not just good; He is awesome! Our little baby instantly began moving and grooving for us showing off fingers and toes and a great heart beat! Even though I am on my third, watching the miracle of life on that screen NEVER gets old! It truly blows my mind every time I get to see our precious angels developing inside of me! The scan came out wonderfully. We got all positives on all the scans the doctor (who was absolutely INCREDIBLE) could do. Now we just wait for some blood work to confirm that everything is okay with our little boy. ...

Don't Lose You

When Jackson was a baby, I would hop into my car on my lunch break and rush to his day care to see him. I had thirty minutes with my baby and I needed every last second. I was a mess of a new mom and had a really hard time leaving him everyday. I was caught in the conundrum of loving teaching with all that I was and loving being a mom desperately wanting to stay home. I established a neat relationship with Jack's care-takers. They were a little older than me and much wiser. They will never fully know how appreciative I am for their advice and comfort during those beginning moments as a mama. When I decided to leave my teaching career and move halfway across the country to do so, they gave me a piece of advice that I didn't take seriously initially but now hold dear. They told me I had to find something for me. They watched me finish my master's that year and knew I was the type that needed to be doing. They recognized that I was about to enter a season where I had to hold...
