A Fish Family Christmas

Christmas was definitely different for us this year but wonderful. We usually do the driving-around-crazy-trying-to-see-everyone Christmas but this year we decided to stay home. We enjoyed being together as a family starting our own traditions like making Jesus a birthday cake and going to Christmas Eve service; things I've always wanted to do. My mom flew in from California to be with us which was amazing! Jackson was attached to her hip the entire time...so sweet! Jackson was a blast this year as he is beginning to understand the REAL meaning of Christmas getting excited for Jesus' birthday and understanding Santa. Although we missed our family and friends this year, we enjoyed making a Christmas of our own! I hope all of you had a blessed holiday season! BOY! We are so excited to add another boy to our brood and Jackson is very excited to have a baby brother! My mom and I had the awesome opportunity to go to Stork Vision to have an ultrasound done. We got to see the baby for about thirty minutes and even got a dvd of the visit! He was moving and looking at us! It was incredible! We are just so very excited to have a healthy baby! Thank you so much for all of your prayers! Please continue praying for us and our growing family! I am 18 weeks. Almost halfway through! Meet Grady Steven Fish I'm a boy Waving to us:)

The Naked Lap

For some reason Jackson always has to do a naked lap around the upstairs after bathtime. I'm sure it's "freeing" for him. He does it everyday. Well, he topped himself the other day escaping our downstairs shower and doing his naked lap through our backyard. Nice! Hope the neighbors weren't spying on us that day! And, yes, I will be telling his girlfriend(s) this story!

Monday Musings~Mary's Song

And Mary said: "My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He has been mindful of the humble state of His servant. From now in all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me- Holy is His name. His mercy extends to those who fear Him, from generation to generation. He has performed mighty deeds with His arm; He has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts. He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty. He has helped His servant Israel, remembering to be merciful to Abraham and his descendents forever, even as He said to our fathers. Luke 1:27-55

FlashbackFriday

Tuesday Toddler Tales

We saw Santa...again. Santa will definitely know what Jack wants for Christmas! I have three stories so bear with me. I couldn't choose a story for this week. I swear I should start writing a book. This kid can make me millions!!! Story 1: A few days ago Jackson watched a Christmas episode of "My Friends Tigger and Pooh." On the show, Winnie the Pooh licked the North Pole only to find that it was one big candy cane. Well, on Sunday night, Scott, Jackson, and I went on a train ride called The Polar Express. Outside the event there were poles decorated in white and red like candy canes. Every time Jackson came up to one of the poles he would lick it. Scott and I were laughing and freaking out all at once! Gross but funny! Good thing we weren't getting our freeze Sunday or the kid would still be stuck there! Story 2: This is an update on our sleep deprivation. Jackson slept through the night last night, stayed in his bed the ENTIRE time, and did not wake up until 9am! Wa...

Monday Musings~Lazy

I am lazy. Oh, I am not lazy when it comes to getting "essential" things done like cleaning the house, putting dishes away, picking up toys, blah, blah, blah. No, I tend to get lazy with God. When I am in a "good" place I tend to become relaxed in my prayer and quiet times. I still pray and read the Bible but not as intently or with as much passion as I'd like. So, I have decided that no matter what is going on my life I am going to hold onto my God like I cannot let go; like if I do I will fall off that cliff. I will pray fervently and study His Word with passion and joy. I will not take my faith lightly. He suffered viciously and died on a cross for me. I cannot take my faith lightly. This holiday season has been a reminder to me that without the birth of my Savior I would not be where I am today. Therefore, I have decided that I cannot and will not take my faith lightly! May He be forever glorified in and through my life! "But let all who take refuge in ...

Santa Saturday

This one's for all you mommies out there!!! Night Before Christmas For Moms Twas the night before Christmas, when all thru the abode only one creature was stirring, and she was cleaning the commode. The children were finally sleeping, all snug in their beds, while visions of Nintendo 64 and Barbie, flipped through their heads. The dad was snoring in front of the TV, with a half-constructed bicycle on his knee. So only the mom heard the reindeer hooves clatter, which made her sigh, "Now what's the matter?" With toilet bowl brush still clutched in her hand, she descended the stairs, and saw the old man. He was covered with ashes and soot, which fell with a shrug. "Oh great," muttered the mom, "Now I have to clean the rug." "Ho-ho-ho!" cried Santa, "I'm glad you're awake." "Your gift was especially difficult to make." "Thanks, Santa, but all I want is some time alone." "Exactly!" he chuckled, ...

Wisdom

Why do we have wisdom teeth? They do not make us, well, me at least, wise. If anything, they made me more stupid. I still have my wisdom teeth. They have never given me a problem until I had Jack. Come to find out one of them grew in sideways hitting the tooth next to it. Of course this cause a huge cavity and other lovely stuff. I am a wimp and was too scared to be put under for fear of never waking up again to see my husband and child. So, I never got them taken out. Well, I have had tooth pain in this particular tooth on and off for about two years. I know. I know. I had some severe pain the day after Halloween but didn't do anything because I was just newly pregnant. I just suffered through the pain until it went away. Again, I know how stupid this sounds. See, I told you wisdom teeth make you stupider:) Yesterday I was eating lunch and felt that particular tooth with my tongue and oh my gosh half the tooth was gone. Where'd it go? Did I swallow it? Yummy! Needless to say I...

Santa Baby

Jackson wrote his letter to Santa. He was very excited to put it in the mailbox. Then he posed by the Christmas tree for me. I love when he is cooperative when I want to get some cute pics of him! Enjoy! Writing his letter to Santa. Trying to fold the letter to put it in the envelope. Here's his letter to Santa. I hope he can read toddler. Mailing the letter to Santa.

Wordless Wednesday~That's My Boy

16 Weeks and Counting

I went for my 16 week check-up yesterday. I can't believe I am 16 weeks already, but, at the same time, I feel like I've been pregnant forever. Anyway, I was nervous for this appointment because I haven't been to the doctor in 3 weeks. She took my weekly "security blanket" visits away since I was doing so well. We went into the non-sono room which always makes my heart flutter. For some reason with this pregnancy, and the two prior, she cannot seem to ever find the heartbeat. Plus, I get so nervous that my heart rate goes up so sometimes she can't tell if it's my crazy heart beating uber-fast or the baby. So, of course this time was no different; no heart beat found. We moved to Room 5, the sonogram room. I nervously waited for the machine to start up so I could see this little bugger. And there the baby was, getting bigger with the heart beating away! The baby was going CRAZY moving like a lunatic! It was jumping, flipping over, kicking, moving its arms u...

Baby on the Floor

Yesterday I was putting a couple of things in the closet for the baby of what is going to be the nursery. Jackson was helping me and asked me where the baby was going to live. I told him where and he was excited since the room is next to his. Later that night Scott and I asked him where the baby was going to sleep and he responded by telling us that the baby was going to sleep in his room. When I asked him where in his room he told me, "on the floor." Scott antagonized him telling him that the baby would not sleep in his room but in the nursery. Jackson got mad at him and yelled over and over again that the baby was sleeping in his room on the floor. Oh my...it starts already!

Merry Mainstreet

Last night Jackson, Scott, and I headed out to our city's Christmas Festival, Merry Main street. Frisco puts on a wonderful celebration of lights, food, and many other Christmas-y things. We had a blast! Jackson was so fun this year! He loved everything, including Santa! Wahoo! He was very excited to sit on Santa's sleigh and really wanted it to fly. He was so funny when sitting with Santa because he wouldn't move his head or body just his eyes from side to side. We also saw Frosty the Snowman, Rudolf, and the Gingerbread Man. He went up to each of the characters and gave them a big hug before smiling for a picture. We also enjoyed a funnel cake and a train exhibit which was amazing! All-in-all it was a fantastic family night celebrating the season in the brisk cool night! Daddy & Jack on their way to Merry Main street. Jackson is obsessed with Daddy lately! The Fish Family waiting for Santa! Jackson & Santa. Jackson LOVED Santa! He was so funny. He wouldn't mov...

Progress

Update: We have made some progress with Jack's sleeping. Two nights ago he only fought going down for about an hour and didn't come to our bed until 5am. Last night he didn't fight going down at all (granted he hadn't napped), woke up once at 1am for a little bit crying but Scott got him back down, and he didn't come to our bed until 6:40am. I am hoping that we are on a roll getting back into his usual sleeping habits. He desperately needs to get back on track because he is just not himself during the day due to the lack of sleep. Thanks for all the advice. We've just tried to stick to his nightly routine and we keep walking him back to his bed when he gets out. I know he'll get it soon! THANK YOU!
