I AM AN ADDICT

I have been in a season of searching; searching for what I want to be when I grow up. I know one day I will go back to teaching but the time is not now. So, I asked myself, "Self, what do you want to do with yourself besides being a mommy and wife?" I have many prospects out there but one thing that I have fallen in LOVE with is taking pictures! Of course my kids are the wonderful recipients of mommy's new hobby. Grady is already tired of the camera putting his smile away when the big black object comes out and gets in his face. I took some initial pictures of Grady for his 3 month pics but didn't fall in love with them. Here are a few of these photos. I like the last picture. I think he's having not nice thoughts about me. Enjoy!

What do you do when....

you have a summer thunderstorm??? Gather a bunch of preschoolers and their younger siblings and have one heck of a playdate! We played, made our own pizza craft, ate pizza, watched a movie, and played some more. The kids were wiped by the end of the day but you better believe the mommies were even more tired! Thanks for a wonderful day!!! Man, we have some cute kids!!!

7 Years

*Disclaimer: I was going to post this on our anniversary but as I bent down to load the pictures my knee popped out of socket and I went down. So, you get it two days late. It doesn't really matter, though. My love is even stronger for this man today.* Like any little girl I dreamed about my future husband. Would he drive my pink corvette like Ken? Would he sing like Jordan Knight? Would he have long flowing hair like Sebastian Bach? Would he wear flannels like Eddie Veder? Fortunately, he was like none of the above! He was better! I met Scott 13 years ago at Chevy's Mexican Restaurant. I was a hostess. He was a bus boy. I think one of the first times he saw me I was walking to the back getting off work crying because my high school boyfriend had just broken up with me. Lucky for him:) I remember we began talking; he leaning on the chip holder, I at the hostess desk. It was nearing my 18th birthday when I asked him to walk me to my car. I asked him to go to The Shack (a totally

Happy 3-Month Day Grady-Do!

Oh Mr. Grady-Do you are one big boy! Three months of your life have passed by in a flash! Literally! You are (unofficially) 14 chunky pounds and 25 loooong inches! You are also one smiley little fella! "Goo" and "ah" are what you like to say. Daddy is now your buddy but you still LOVE your mommy time! You kick and flap your arms when you get excited and smile really big. You have laughed in your sleep a few times which is pretty funny. Jackson amuses you and you just stare at him in adoration. He loves you beyond measure! You are still a champion sleeper sleeping anywhere and going for 5 hour increments or longer! Because of your fast-paced growth you have graduated from the basinet to the pack-n-play. You wear 3-6 months clothes and size 2 diapers and shoes. We are enjoying every blessed moment with you!!! Until next month...

Wordless Wednesday

Critical Thinking

I got Jackson a new backpack the other day. I let him choose from various super hero selections. He chose Batman and was EXTREMELY excited! Later that day we were playing with his backpack. He began to examine it quite intently. He then asked me, "Mommy, why does my backpack have boobs?" Above is the backpack in question. I had to explain to my three-year-old-going-on-sixteen that Batman has muscles like daddy and those are not boobs but muscles. Batman has to have super strength to save all those people. My answer seemed to be sufficient and we moved on. Whew!

Monday Musings~Going Through the Motions

As a Christian, have you ever felt like you were just going through the motions of your faith? Yes, I believe. Yes, I will live my life one way trying my best to make right choices along the way. Yes, I will teach my children about God and try to set a good example. Blah, blah, blah. I was naive and in "la la" land before I had Grady thinking I could get it all done. I can clean the house, cook, feed Grady every three hours, entertain Jackson, etc. all the while getting in a good devotional time meditating on the Word for a good thirty minutes or so. WRONG! There is no way I was going to complete a good quiet time with a three year old yammering in my ear. I had to find time early morning or late at night. Well, Jack gets up at 6:30am and by the time both boys are in bed, I am wiped! I know, "excuses excuses." What I have learned through my short experience of being a mother of two is that sometimes we don't have time to sit down and be still for that token thir

Photo Session

Jen, her kids, and the whole Ramsey crew came for a great visit! We had a great time swimming, going to the aquarium, and celebrating Jakob's 3rd birthday. I got Josie a cute tutu for her birthday and we decided to take some pictures in it. I got a little photo happy and turned taking some fun random pics into a photo session. Once we took the ADORABLE pictures I had to take some of Jakob too! I am really enjoying my fabulous camera! Thanks for being such beautiful models Jake and Josie!
