Grady's Story

Grady Steven Fish 7lbs. 3oz. 19 1/2inches April 25, 2009 4:45pm SURPRISE! Actually, I think absolute shock is more appropriate! This was me a week ago...happy at 36 weeks pregnant with not much happening. I thought for sure that I had at least 2 weeks left, if not four. I did, however, frantically run around town that day getting all the things I thought I needed to get just in case. Good thing I am a little neurotic and OCD because it paid off a few days later. I have had contractions on and off since I was 25 weeks pregnant or so. I never thought anything of them because they were so sporadic and fairly painless. Friday camearound and I noticed that I was having more contractions than usual. Grady was still moving about so I didn't worry much. Around 2:30pm that day I laid down because the contractions were coming on a little stronger and closer together. I called Scott to let him know and honestly, to see when he was coming home from work. Jackson was still napping and I wasn&#

Not-So-Wordless Wednesday

It's the final countdown! Do you have that song stuck in your head now? I am 36 weeks tomorrow. I can't believe it! I had a doctor's appointment today and everything is going swimmingly. Nothing is happening quite yet so we wait and begin the countdown. Grady and I actually have a pact. We have agreed that he is not allowed to come out for two weeks. He is aware that mommy needs just two more weeks before he graces us with his presence. We are all very excited to meet this little guy, especially big brother Jack and cousin Gavin. Gavin keeps asking me questions like, "Is Grady still cookin'?" and, "Is Grady coming with us?" Jackson just yells at me or my belly for Grady to come out. I think he believes that his brother is going to come out ready to play with him. I am going to the doctor weekly (Wednesdays) now so I will post my progress to keep y'all updated! Please start praying for a smooth and healthy delivery!

Birthdays & Jesus

Birthday season has arrived here in Frisco! It seems that we are celebrating somebody's birthday every weekend. Jackson is getting EXTREMELY excited about his birthday, excuse me, his pirate birthday. Somehow as we got ready for school today we got on the topic of his birthday and Jackson being two now and turning three. Scott and I told him that he was almost three and he said to us, "I am not three yet. I have to go learn. I have to learn about Jesus and then I will be three." Okay then. I guess he's on the right track. At least he's desiring to learn about the one who created him. Silly boy!

A Page of Pictures

Let me begin by saying that Scott and I are mere amateurs and I actually despise my camera. With that being said, I had the brilliant idea of taking Jackson's three year pictures on our own at 8 months pregnant. I took Jack's 2 year pictures myself at the Arboretum last year and they turned out okay so I thought I'd give it a whirl again. I know I will not have time once Grady is born and I didn't want to do his pictures any later when I am just to huge to do anything. We woke up to a dreary day and Scott not feeling that great. However, we ventured out anyway and got some GREAT shots! The clouds and drizzle really helped with the lighting. Jackson was amazing! I LOVE taking pictures of him outside away from a studio where he's asked to pose. I also used my picture program for the first time and I AM IN L-O-V-E! I could sit and play with this photo program all day! Enjoy the pictures! They are in no particular order. I think the last one is Jack just being silly.
