Roadtrip

Jackson and I packed up and headed on down to Belton, Texas; our first time in 9 LOOOONG months! My best friend that I have known for 18 years lives in Belton. Her husband is serving in Iraq so she went "home" to California to have her sweet baby girl, Josie, and be with family while her hubby was away. Now she is home and I am a happy camper. It's nice to know that she is a drive instead of a flight away!

We had a blast together! The boys were hilarious and LOVED spending time with each other playing, being, loud, and just acting like boys! Thankfully we had princess Josie there to add a little pink and sugar to the mix:) She's so sweet! I added some pictures of Jackson and Jen's cat, Tigger. Words cannot fully describe the obsession my son has with that poor cat. Tigger was a good sport, though. It was sad to say good-bye, again, but nice to know that we will see each other again at the end of the month instead of months later! Thanks for having us, Jenny! I love you more than words!

Looks like the boys had fun together! I'm sure you and Jen did too! Nothing like a best friend. Is that McAlister's sweet tea that I see? I LOVE that stuff! I wish we had McAlister's here. Love the picture of the balls in the bathtub. I'm going to have to do that for Sadie. She would love it!

Notoriety

Teenage Mother A donkey owner Simon of Cyrene Who are these people? I am sure you can figure out the first one: Mary the mother of Jesus. Who are the others and what do all three of these people have in common? They all did extraordinary things but, for the most part, went unseen. Do you ever feel unseen? Undervalued? I do. I try not to get caught up in that space, but I find myself there too often. While Mary is infamous today, she wasn't when she brought the King into this world. She was a teenager who gave birth in a barn. She was an outcast who was pregnant but not married. She told of an unbelievable story involving an angel, a Spirit, and a Savior who was going to save the world. Could you even imagine? It's easy for us to be in awe of Mary. We know the whole story. She didn't. And neither did the people around her. She had to live it. To top it all off, she had to watch her beloved son die a gruesome death. Talk about feeling unseen and undervalued. She faithfu...

Our Miracle

"He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted." Job 9:10 "You are the God who performs miracles; You will display Your power among the peoples." Psalm 77:14 Meet our miracle...and our secret. Yes, it is true. I am pregnant; about twelve weeks and a few days to be exact. We wanted to make sure this baby was healthy before announcing how great God has been to us! We have known about this precious little blessing for a little over two months and have eagerly awaited numerous sonogram and test results. We have witnessed God's mighty, yet gentle, hand every Tuesday for the past five weeks. This baby is a fighter. However, the road is not "clear" quite yet. We met with the pareanatoligist today to do a sonogram and blood test to determine if there are any chromosomal abnormalities; specifically Downs, and Trisomy 13 and 18. Although the sonogram looked great and the doctor said we were in the "safe zone," we are stil...

The Promise Land

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 We Christians like this verse; like A LOT. We have it written all over the place. We hang this verse up in our home and tattoo it to our bodies. Jeremiah 29:11 is everyone's life verse. I mean, who doesn't want to rest in knowing the God has a plan for our life; especially when that plan includes safety and prosperity. Even if I didn't believe in God, I would hold onto this verse. What if, however, we have been misinterpreting this verse all these years? This life, the here and the now, we like it. Well, some of us probably want to throw this life in the trash like a rough draft and have a do-over. But, for the most part, we hold onto this life for dear life. It is all we know. It can be scary to think of anything else. Because of this, we go all in even when the cards we are dealt are bad. Thi...
