A Page of Pictures

Let me begin by saying that Scott and I are mere amateurs and I actually despise my camera. With that being said, I had the brilliant idea of taking Jackson's three year pictures on our own at 8 months pregnant. I took Jack's 2 year pictures myself at the Arboretum last year and they turned out okay so I thought I'd give it a whirl again. I know I will not have time once Grady is born and I didn't want to do his pictures any later when I am just to huge to do anything.

We woke up to a dreary day and Scott not feeling that great. However, we ventured out anyway and got some GREAT shots! The clouds and drizzle really helped with the lighting. Jackson was amazing! I LOVE taking pictures of him outside away from a studio where he's asked to pose. I also used my picture program for the first time and I AM IN L-O-V-E! I could sit and play with this photo program all day! Enjoy the pictures! They are in no particular order. I think the last one is Jack just being silly.

I just wanted to say I LOVE those pictures, especially the bridge! What program are you using? My Dad was just telling me about Lightroom. I hoping he likes it better than Photoshop, so he can pass it down to me..haha!
Take Care! :)

Notoriety

Teenage Mother A donkey owner Simon of Cyrene Who are these people? I am sure you can figure out the first one: Mary the mother of Jesus. Who are the others and what do all three of these people have in common? They all did extraordinary things but, for the most part, went unseen. Do you ever feel unseen? Undervalued? I do. I try not to get caught up in that space, but I find myself there too often. While Mary is infamous today, she wasn't when she brought the King into this world. She was a teenager who gave birth in a barn. She was an outcast who was pregnant but not married. She told of an unbelievable story involving an angel, a Spirit, and a Savior who was going to save the world. Could you even imagine? It's easy for us to be in awe of Mary. We know the whole story. She didn't. And neither did the people around her. She had to live it. To top it all off, she had to watch her beloved son die a gruesome death. Talk about feeling unseen and undervalued. She faithfu...

Our Miracle

"He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted." Job 9:10 "You are the God who performs miracles; You will display Your power among the peoples." Psalm 77:14 Meet our miracle...and our secret. Yes, it is true. I am pregnant; about twelve weeks and a few days to be exact. We wanted to make sure this baby was healthy before announcing how great God has been to us! We have known about this precious little blessing for a little over two months and have eagerly awaited numerous sonogram and test results. We have witnessed God's mighty, yet gentle, hand every Tuesday for the past five weeks. This baby is a fighter. However, the road is not "clear" quite yet. We met with the pareanatoligist today to do a sonogram and blood test to determine if there are any chromosomal abnormalities; specifically Downs, and Trisomy 13 and 18. Although the sonogram looked great and the doctor said we were in the "safe zone," we are stil...

Don't Lose You

When Jackson was a baby, I would hop into my car on my lunch break and rush to his day care to see him. I had thirty minutes with my baby and I needed every last second. I was a mess of a new mom and had a really hard time leaving him everyday. I was caught in the conundrum of loving teaching with all that I was and loving being a mom desperately wanting to stay home. I established a neat relationship with Jack's care-takers. They were a little older than me and much wiser. They will never fully know how appreciative I am for their advice and comfort during those beginning moments as a mama. When I decided to leave my teaching career and move halfway across the country to do so, they gave me a piece of advice that I didn't take seriously initially but now hold dear. They told me I had to find something for me. They watched me finish my master's that year and knew I was the type that needed to be doing. They recognized that I was about to enter a season where I had to hold...
