How do you explain to an almost three year old that Easter isn't just about bunnies and eggs? Well, I have tried all week to explain to Jack the true meaning of Easter and he listens but doesn't truly understand quite yet. However, he does know about Jesus so that's a good start. For now I will enjoy the fun activities of the holiday.
Jackson LOVED dying the Easter eggs! I thought I was in for a huge mess and tons of cracked eggs but Jack did awesome! He was so amazed at how the eggs turned colors in the dye and kept saying that the eggs were beautiful. A couple days later we made bunny and egg cookies. Again, I was expecting mayhem. However, Jackson surprised me once again and we sat together nicely and decorated our cookies. He had a blast! Then, on Saturday morning, we went to our neighborhood Easter egg hunt. After much waiting and anticipation, Jackson was off searching for as many eggs as he could find. It was funny because he seemed a little unsure and overwhelmed by all the kids at first which is so not his personality at all. But once he got out on that grass he was a happy camper! He got a bucket full of eggs filled with candy (yipee for mommy & daddy) and got to see the Easter bunny. We had a blast! Tomorrow is the big day full of church, lunch & an egg hunt with the Bullard clan, and dinner with the Fish family! More pictures to come:)
