Christmas!

Finally! I am finally done uploading all the photos from our Christmas extravaganza! Our Christmas began last Saturday and ended Thursday around 10:30pm. We began by doing our stockings at home on Saturday (there were some things in Jackson's that we wanted him to have on the plane). Then we went to our friends', the Bullards, house to do Christmas with them. Gavin and Jackson had a blast ripping open presents together. Next, we boarded a plane to sunny California. We arrived Sunday and began the festivities. I was able to visit with some friends when we got in on Sunday which was so wonderful! I so enjoyed seeing CarriAnn, Jana, and Brandi again! I miss them already!

Then came the big day before the big day...Christmas Eve. Every year we get together with my dad's side of the family on Christmas Eve. This time my family from Colorado flew in. It was so nice to catch up with them. We had about 25 people at my parents house. Jackson was wild! He had a blast with his second cousins! The Peterson family is always loud, wildl, and crazy and make for a really good time!

Fianlly, Christmas morning. Scott and I were looking forward to this because it was going to be quiet:) and Jackson is older this year and so much fun! Jack woke up around 7am and we had to hold him until Mamaw woke up. This didn't take long...jack snuck in and woke her up! We had a wonderful morning! Jackson LOVED opening all his gifts! He has mastered the art of tearing open presents! Scott and I got away during naptime and took a drive down the coast. It was nice to see the ocean again and have some alone time. We miss being able to drop Jackson off at Mamaw and Papa's.

After our wonderful morning, we enjoyed Christmas dinner with my mom's side of the family. It was so nice to spend time with my aunt and uncle and watch Jackson interact with his Great Grandma and Grandpa. He and his Great Grandma had a "secret" language and kept making funny noises at each other. It was great to watch!

Just because Christmas day was over, our Christmas was not. We continued the festivities the next day by visiting Scott's grandparents in Sun City. We had a fantastic visit with Grandma and Grandpa Fish. Once again, Jackson loved his Great Grandparents. We are so blessed to still have them in our lives!

And, still, there is more! We arrived back at my parents house to have Christmas with my sister and her family. They drove down from Sacramento. Jackson got to play with his cousins and open more presents; spoiled little guy! He had so much fun playing with Jacob, Joshua, and Allison. My sister even got to sneak in some kisses!

So, you'd think we'd be done after that but no...we still had to have Christmas at our house. We landed on Thursday around 8:30pm. We made it home by 9:45pm and let Jackson open his presents that Santa left at our house. He was an old pro by now! He got so so much! By far his favorite present of the evening was Tickle Me Elmo from Aunt Jenny (thanks for that)! He would not let Elmo go all night!

Well, I think that is it! I'm sure I have left something out but you get the jist! We are just now catching up on sleep and getting back into our routine. We had such a wonderful time with family and friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year!!!

Holy Holy

I can't stop singing, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty." Scott and I went to the "big" ultrasound today where we tested to see if our baby had Down's, one of the Trisomy disorders, or any neural tube defects. I must admit the palms were a little sweaty and the heart was racing a bit. As surreal as this pregnancy is, I don't want anything to be wrong with this precious life inside of me. Well, holy is right. The Lord is not just good; He is awesome! Our little baby instantly began moving and grooving for us showing off fingers and toes and a great heart beat! Even though I am on my third, watching the miracle of life on that screen NEVER gets old! It truly blows my mind every time I get to see our precious angels developing inside of me! The scan came out wonderfully. We got all positives on all the scans the doctor (who was absolutely INCREDIBLE) could do. Now we just wait for some blood work to confirm that everything is okay with our little boy. ...

Tuesday Toddler Tales~A Mother's Worst Nightmare

I lost Jack. Don't worry, he has been found but for the longest I'd say 8 minutes of my life he was gone. I was at the mall with two girlfriends and their kiddos. We were all having lunch at the food court when I stepped away to get some ketchup. Jack stayed behind with his friends. I was gone for maybe a minute and a half or so. When I came back he was gone. His chair was pushed in and empty. I began to panic. One friend stayed behind with all the other kids while my other friend and I darted off in oposite directions. Others began to notice our panic and jumped in the search with us. I saw nothing in my direction, not even shoppers. I turned around and started the other way. I got to the carousel where I thought he'd be and he wasn't. At this point it took everything in my power not to faint. I felt like everything around me was spinning. I was so overwhelmed with where to look. I just kept running, frantically asking people if they saw a little blond-haired boy with ...

Notoriety

Teenage Mother A donkey owner Simon of Cyrene Who are these people? I am sure you can figure out the first one: Mary the mother of Jesus. Who are the others and what do all three of these people have in common? They all did extraordinary things but, for the most part, went unseen. Do you ever feel unseen? Undervalued? I do. I try not to get caught up in that space, but I find myself there too often. While Mary is infamous today, she wasn't when she brought the King into this world. She was a teenager who gave birth in a barn. She was an outcast who was pregnant but not married. She told of an unbelievable story involving an angel, a Spirit, and a Savior who was going to save the world. Could you even imagine? It's easy for us to be in awe of Mary. We know the whole story. She didn't. And neither did the people around her. She had to live it. To top it all off, she had to watch her beloved son die a gruesome death. Talk about feeling unseen and undervalued. She faithfu...
