Thursday Thirteen-Thirteen things that prove how crazy I am

1. I like things clean and orderly
2. Organization both a blessing and a flaw in me
3. EVERYTHING has a place & should be put back there after use
4. Things have to be straight
5. I cannot leave dishes in the sink
6. I can't rest/relax...there is always something to do
7. I have to be challenged constantly or I'll get bored
8. Everything has to match
9. I will start one thing and think of a billion other things I have to do and realize after a few minutes that I am trying to do a billion things at one time
10. I always seem to be rushing to get out the door no matter how much time I give myself
11. The decorative pillows on my bed go a certain way and that's that (Scott loves to mess with me and move them around or mess them up)
12. I will walk around my house straightening things throughout the day
13. I clean up a mess before the mess is over

Case in point...even Jackson's caught on to mommy's craziness

After I had cleaned the entire house, Jackson decided to take every toy out of his toy box and throw them all over the floor. This was after he dumped his raisins out everywhere and was swatting at them with the fly swatter he had found in the drawer. All I could do was laugh! He has learned well from his dad!

Oh Megan - I think we might have been separated at birth. Your "13" sounds like a day at my house. Brian, too, loves to mess with me and is constantly asking me to just sit down an relax. But there is ALWAYS something that could be cleaner or more organized. Sometimes I actually act on the thought that I need to slow down and realize that time on the couch with Brian may be what's more important.

You don't need to tell this to me.

I'm glad your boys tease you from time to time.

Love Dad

Teenage Mother A donkey owner Simon of Cyrene Who are these people? I am sure you can figure out the first one: Mary the mother of Jesus. Who are the others and what do all three of these people have in common? They all did extraordinary things but, for the most part, went unseen. Do you ever feel unseen? Undervalued? I do. I try not to get caught up in that space, but I find myself there too often. While Mary is infamous today, she wasn't when she brought the King into this world. She was a teenager who gave birth in a barn. She was an outcast who was pregnant but not married. She told of an unbelievable story involving an angel, a Spirit, and a Savior who was going to save the world. Could you even imagine? It's easy for us to be in awe of Mary. We know the whole story. She didn't. And neither did the people around her. She had to live it. To top it all off, she had to watch her beloved son die a gruesome death. Talk about feeling unseen and undervalued. She faithfu...

Our Miracle

"He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted." Job 9:10 "You are the God who performs miracles; You will display Your power among the peoples." Psalm 77:14 Meet our miracle...and our secret. Yes, it is true. I am pregnant; about twelve weeks and a few days to be exact. We wanted to make sure this baby was healthy before announcing how great God has been to us! We have known about this precious little blessing for a little over two months and have eagerly awaited numerous sonogram and test results. We have witnessed God's mighty, yet gentle, hand every Tuesday for the past five weeks. This baby is a fighter. However, the road is not "clear" quite yet. We met with the pareanatoligist today to do a sonogram and blood test to determine if there are any chromosomal abnormalities; specifically Downs, and Trisomy 13 and 18. Although the sonogram looked great and the doctor said we were in the "safe zone," we are stil...

Holy Holy

I can't stop singing, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty." Scott and I went to the "big" ultrasound today where we tested to see if our baby had Down's, one of the Trisomy disorders, or any neural tube defects. I must admit the palms were a little sweaty and the heart was racing a bit. As surreal as this pregnancy is, I don't want anything to be wrong with this precious life inside of me. Well, holy is right. The Lord is not just good; He is awesome! Our little baby instantly began moving and grooving for us showing off fingers and toes and a great heart beat! Even though I am on my third, watching the miracle of life on that screen NEVER gets old! It truly blows my mind every time I get to see our precious angels developing inside of me! The scan came out wonderfully. We got all positives on all the scans the doctor (who was absolutely INCREDIBLE) could do. Now we just wait for some blood work to confirm that everything is okay with our little boy. ...
